The New Jersey Turnpike Authority wants to build an entire new highway alongside the current turnpike extension through the middle of Jersey City, then tear down the original structures. The project would cost $5 billion, last 10 years, and more than 60 properties would need to be acquired through eminent domain. We have a choice! Winemaker Spotlight
4 PM - 6 PM at CoolVines
Originally founded in 1820, the Movia winery and estate in Slovenia became one of Europe’s most famous wineries in the years that followed World War II. Located in the village of Ceglo, in the heart of the Brda appellation, literally a stone’s throw from the Italian border, Movia helped put Slovenia on the map of the world’s great wine regions in the late 1990s when interest in wine from former Eastern Bloc states began to flourish. The current generation of Movia is led by winemaker Aleš Kristančič, who is as renowned for his passionate embrace of organic and biodynamic farming practices as he is for his larger-than-life personality and ingenious approach to winemaking. Here at CoolVines, Movia is exactly the kind of producer we are excited to champion and celebrate, preferably with a full glass!
