The opening reception at the Commuter Gallery located at 15 Path Plaza, within the Journal Square Transportation Center, this Friday November 4th from 5-9pm. “Are You There?”: An Immersive Poetry Installation

  • 6 PM - 9 PM at Smush Gallery

  • THE TIME HAS COME! “Are You There?” is an Immersive Poetry Installation I’ve been quietly putting work into since summer and it’s finally ready for the world. I’m so excited to share this work with you. There are so many moving parts to this piece and I put so much care and attention into each one. I’ve worked with some truly brilliant collaborators to bring these poems to life and have taught myself SOOOO many new mediums to be able make this happen. They’ll be plenty of opportunities to experience it but I’d love to see y’all at the Opening November 4. This event is supported by Art House Cares, a grant program by Art House Productions in Jersey City.

Run For Liberty 5K

  • 9 AM - 12 PM at Liberty State Park

  • Please join the Friends of LSP's annual 5K Run on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 9am starting near the Flag Plaza and going north along the scenic Waterfront Walkway. Walkers are welcome also! The registration page is at the linktree in bio. The Run fundraiser will help the Friends carry out our mission of protecting and improving LSP, threatened by the billionaire Paul Fireman and his funded surrogates’ privatization and commercialization plans.

JC Planning Walking Tours: Ward B & Ward F

  • 10 AM - 12 PM & 1 PM - 3 PM at West Side Avenue

  • The rescheduled date for the ward f walking tour w/ JC Planning board will be Saturday November 5th 1-3pm! We will meet at Arlington Ave & Wilkinson Ave. please come out and get your questions regarding the R-1 answered. The R-1 zone makes up a majority of the city (30%) therefore it’s vital that we all understand the impacts this will have in our community!

Miller Library Branch 100 Years Celebration

  • 12 PM - 4 PM at Jersey City Free Public Library: Miller Branch

  • Originally called the Bergen Branch, our Miller Branch opened at its current address, 489 Bergen Avenue, in 1922. Over the decades, the Miller Branch has served countless patrons and Jersey City residents. Its collections and have grown and evolved with the neighborhood. Thousands of story times, classes, events and concerts have occurred in this well-loved building. Odds are, you were not around when the Miller Branch opened, but you can certainly be around for our 100th Anniversary Celebration, Saturday, Nov. 5, from 12-4 PM. What’s that address again? 489 Bergen Avenue... one of our JCFPL homes for the last 100 years.

Collaged Book Workshop

  • 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM at 135 Erie St

  • Create a hand-made book using collaged imagery! Using found images and their own work, students will make a unique book that can be used as a sketchbook or as an art object in itself. This is a quick and easy method of bookmaking, as well as a great way to stimulate creativity and ideas. Registration link in bio

Embankment on My Mind Opening Reception

BUILDS CHARACTER Opening Reception

  • UP NEXT in what’s been a nonstop lineup of one spectacular show after the next and this one is no exception — the legendary CHRIS RWK will be gracing us with an entirely new collection of work in a solo exhibition, “BUILDS CHARACTER,” featuring not only traditional paintings but also works on wood, metalworks and multidimensional sculptures. Chris has had a tireless year of art production and he’s closing it out with what will be his largest mixed media collection of 2022!!! We cannot wait to share this show with you — we’ve been anticipating it all year and at long last it’s here!!
