JC Fridays: Free Art Festival

  • Events throughout town 11am - 11pm!

  • Discover, support, and enjoy the Jersey City art and business community.

During JC Fridays, we invite you to tour galleries, businesses, event venues and art-related spaces to see a variety of artwork and enjoy the spirit and culture of the city as you mingle with other residents and visitors. All events are free and open to the public.


Whether you're a seasoned art patron or exploring the arts for the first time, JC Fridays is for you.

Chanukah Celebration

  • 4-7pm at Boys & Girls Club of Hudson County

  • Chanukah treats and candle lighting at family-friendly event.

Free Wine Tasting

  • 5-7pm at CoolVines (Grove & Powerhouse locations)

  • It's that time again. It's cold and getting colder. Time to find a warm place by the fire, grab a good book, and start drinking some full bodied, soul warming wines. Come by the shop this Friday to sample some wines that are keeping our cold winter nights from getting too dreary.

The Maiden & The Crone Opening Reception

  • 5-8pm at Outlander Gallery

  • The Maiden & The Crone pulls inspiration from classic tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and other parables and mythologies, in which female characters are often depicted as young and vulnerable, or old and wicked. This body of work critiques the societal and literary tropes that have been imposed upon women over the centuries, and still exist within our discourse today.

Free Opera Performance by NJCU

  • 7:30-10:30pm at Ingalls Recital Hall, Rossey Building

  • The Caroline L. Guarini Department of Music, Dance and Theatre at New Jersey City University presents “An Evening of Opera Scenes” on Friday, December 3 in Ingalls recital Hall, in the Rossey building at NJCU. Directed by Dr. Robert Prowse and Professor David Maiullo, NJCU’s Opera Workshop students perform scenes and arias from a variety of operas, including, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, The Magic Flute, The Elixir of Love, and more.

NJCU Winter Jazz Fest

The Golden Door: a new play by Lia Romeo

  • 7pm at Village West Gallery

  • What does it mean to be an American, and how much is it worth giving up? In 1902, an Italian peasant girl is detained at Ellis Island. In 2047, an American teenager tries to cross the border into Canada to escape a country ravaged by disease. THE GOLDEN DOOR explores immigration through the ages, and asks what truly makes America great.
